keiko thought she would be less nervous at a second gym challenge, but it felt more daunting than before. she had succeeded once, and now she was condemned to continue to pass.

she took a deep breath, flattered the end of her blouse to ensure she was presentable, and put her chin up.[break][break]

he had already accepted her challenge, so she needed to relax. she found the young man in question and narrowly fought the urge to offer her hand for a shake to the blind gym leader.[break][break]

Seemed that quite a few people were doing full tours of the Gym Circuit, in spite of the ongoing war. Not that Hideo objected to such; his gym was still open to challengers, and he still allotted time to testing said challengers.

His Gym was meant to teach people about how to function in many different Ordeals, after all, and war was just one of many.

Keiko wouldn't have to take long to find him; it was hard to miss his striped sweater, and his own Pokemon directed him to her. The Orbeetle floating above him have him very clear directions, and told him when he'd found her.

"A pleasure to meet you, Keiko," Hideo answered, giving her a small wave of the hand. "No need to call me Mr. Kino; Hideo is fine."

"Mr. Kino" would forever be his father in his mind, not himself.

"Now then, if you'll follow me, I'll show you where we'll be doing your challenge."

With that said, Hideo would lead her towards the challenge room - though it wouldn't be a quiet walk. "So I like to ask all my challengers this: what made you decide to go with Escape From The Fae Kingdom for today's challenge?"

she followed him to the designated area, taking in the sight of the gym. she chewed on his question. what answer would be satisfactory?[break][break]

"i know my purpose. i came to hoenn to help in the war effort as a courier and messenger. i've only been participating in the gym challenge to learn from those that have already been tasked with protecting hoenn, to learn how best to adapt to this environment. i never battled in sinnoh."[break][break]

she had been a poor trainer, then. it showed with her rowdy pelipper. now, though, she had found how to use her innate discipline to better train pokemon and bring out the best in them. [break][break]

"i guess i want affirmation. i left everything in sinnoh to be here. it's hard to know you're making the right choices when you're right in the middle of it. i don't have the power of foresight... and maybe you - and this scene - can help with that."[break][break]
